"A room without books is like a body without a soul" - Marcus Cicero
I'm a book enthusiast from the UK so I decided to start a blog...
What is my blog about?
But I'm not confined to just books (although that's my primary topic). If there is something that is fascinating or thought provoking that relates to either me or the blog, I will probably do a post on it.
Why did I start this blog?
I started Turning Pages because firstly, I love reading. I have always enjoyed just sitting with a book and getting completely immersed in the story.
But sometimes I feel a bit lost after finishing a book because I don't know what to do and who to. So now, when I finish an amazing book and want to rave about it, I will actually have somewhere to do it.
Equally, I will honestly tell you about any book that I have read that I want to review (however I try to avoid wholly negative reviews because I feel like you should be given a chance to try it before I tell you not to.)
But I will obviously tell you about both the good and the bad points of a book.
The other reason I wanted to start this blog is because I love writing and I wanted to find a way to both practise and share my writing in a way that would interest me and other people.
What kind of books will I review?
Well, I am a girl so naturally I will lean towards books written for females (not always of course.)
But within that, I am open. I enjoy chick lits, crime/ mystery and YA fantasy the most, however that's not all I will stick to.
I also like a good classic, adventure and many more so there hopefully there will always be a book review you're interested in.
More about me...
I'm nearly at the end of my education experience and throughout I have especially
enjoyed (you guessed it,) English and History.
My other loves include travelling, skiing and Harry Potter: YesI am a massive potterhead!
My favourite books include: Perks of being a wallflower, Life of Pi, Harry Potter (Goblet of fire is my fav), Pride and Prejudice and The Mortal Instruments series.I am a huge cheesecake enthusiast, one of my life long dreams is to find the perfect NY Cheesecake.
Twitter is by far my favourite social media site at the moment, plus my blog account is the same as my personal & book fan account. So to find out everything about me: thoughts, feelings and fan girl moments, go follow me on twitter!
When can I expect new posts?
I'm hoping to post a review (or anything book), every Tuesday and Saturday. If I am going to do a post that is not book related, then I will do it on a different day. Exam season will begin in about May but hopefully I will be on top of things so it will not affect my blogging.
Thank you,
I hope that helps you get to know me a little better. See you next time and keep reading...
